MEDICAL FACT: Crohn's Disease is incureable!
REALITY: I no longer have it
The background to the story starts when I was made redundant and then faced months of pain and agony
whilst going from roughly 12 stone to just over 9 stone in weight in a matter of weeks.
I was hospitalized twice during a 3 month period and kept vomitting any food that I would eat.
I would vomit so much that I would be in tears because of the pain,
and because none of the tests carried out would show
that there was anything wrong with me, it was a very frustrating time.
It was a great effort just to get dressed and sit in a chair all day, as I felt as though I was walking through a dark valley.
Even so, whilst I felt that I was sinking in the physical and spiritual waters surrounding me, I always felt as though the Lord
would not let my head go under. He was always keeping me afloat and preventing me from drowning in despair.
I had pains all over especially my joints and bones and would awake with feverish sweating consistently.
During most of my illness, I kept getting a verse of scripture all of the time when asking for the Lord
to speak to me and it was
PSALM 6 VERSE 2 -
"Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am faint; O Lord, heal me,
for my bones are in agony."
Whilst I was seeking some comfort from the Lord, all I kept getting was this scripture
and the scripture from His word could not have been more accurate
for me at that time.
A short time after, I got the scripture
PSALM 6 VERSE 9 -
"The Lord has heard my supplication;
The Lord will recieve my prayer", Although I still didn't expect what was to shortly happen.
I went through months of tests whilst the medical profession were trying to
diagnose what was wrong with me, and finally around March 2002, a Colonoscopy revealed Crohn's.
This was a relief in some respects because I had started the strong steroid treatment which did take the abdominal
pains away and gave me an appetite for the first time in 6 months.
Well, having asked the Lord to heal me if it was His will - He did. I did not go to any special healing service, for my belief
is that the Great Physician (the Lord Jesus) is with me always and can heal me anywhere. You don't have to go to a building
or to be touched by a person -- The same God who died on a cross and rose from the dead is omnipresent and can
heal anyone, anywhere and at anytime.
Our trust should not be in individuals or specific ministries, but solely in the Lord Jesus Christ.
May the Lord receive all the Glory for healing me......
