This Privacy Policy has been prepared along with the Terms and Conditions, to safeguard both you (the user of "Christians In Touch") and us, where us being the company and providers of the "Christians In Touch" service.
What Personal Information does "Christians In Touch" hold?
The "Christians In Touch" service collects several pieces of information from the registration process and whenever a member decides to update their personal notes on the website.
The information kept for registering as a new Member is:
Title, First name, Previous Surname, Current Surname, First Year of Attendance, (This is the date that you were at the Church that you are registering to)
Year of Leaving (if appropriate), E-mail Address, and Password.
This information except for the Member's e-mail address, is available for anyone who uses the site.
Member Info
Additional to this, a registered Member may decide to add further information about themselves or their preferences, in the Member Info. This information, as well as a Member's Personal Details, can either be deleted or changed once a member is logged in.
Member Church History
If a Member decides to add more Churches to their History record a profile of the Member's Church history is maintained for other Members to view, but can be deleted whenever the Member wishes from their Member Section Options once they have logged in.
If a Member has deleted themselves from a current Church and has also deleted themselves from a former Church, their name will never show up on the website or in any of the "Christians In Touch" search functions within the main site. The registered email address and password will still be held in the "Christians In Touch" Database, but will not be accessible to anyone using the site.
Member Removal
Should a Member require to be completely removed from the website, an email can be sent to "Christians In Touch" providing your registered email address and password and we will be happy to comply with your request.
How Safe is Your Information from Outside Parties?
"Christians In Touch", will never sell, trade, rent, or give away, your personal information
to any third party, expcept to any future partner which must be a Christian organisation.
We at "Christians In Touch" suffer with personal e-mail spam from time to time,
so we recognise the importance of being completely honest and trustworthy with the information
that you supply to us. In short, we will never give your email address to any other party, (Except for cases of Legal Disclosure)
the exception being any Christian Organisation that may become our partner.
For the purposes of advertising, we may at some point, provide anonymous demographical data for third parties, but never provide your personal details.
E-mail
Your e-mail address will not be directly available to anyone through the "Christians In Touch" service. When a Member decides to contact another Member, the initial contact is made without revealing the recipient's email address. This ensures that your address is only known to those whom you desire it to be revealed.
When a Member then replies to the email sent to them through the "Christians In Touch" service, their email address will become known to the other Member.
Newsletters
A Member can choose to receive "Christians In Touch" Newsletters to keep informed about the latest news and developments or they can choose not to receive them by updating their Member Details.
Legal Disclosure
"Christians In Touch" reserve the right to reveal a Member's details to third parties that request it for legal reasons.
Business Changes
Should "Christians In Touch" ever be acquired by a third party or obtain partnership with a Christian Organisation, it may then be necessary for us to transfer the "Christians In Touch" Database to them for their operation, or to simply share databases.
Does the site use Cookies and what are they?
The answer to the first question is yes. Cookies are small text files that are saved through your web browser to your computer's hard disk. Although some people may have concerns about the 'big brother' nature of cookies, the truth is in nearly all instances, they provide added benefits and efficiency for the Member.
At "Christians In Touch" we use a small encryped cookie to enable the use of the site by passing information from one web page to the next. These cookies are removed from a user's machine if they choose to LOGOUT from the menu options. No information about the user, or their surfing habits is kept in the cookie, only an encrypted Member_ID. Without cookies being enabled within your web browser settings, a Member would not be able to use much of the functionality of "Christians In Touch".
Links
From time to time, "Christians In Touch" may contain links to third party websites and are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites. However, "Christians In Touch" will never intentionally link to a site that is overtly immoral or distasteful. If a complaint is received and it is deemed justified, "Christians In Touch" will remove the link for the site.
Changes
If for whatever reason, this Privacy Policy is amended, we will provide notice by way of a message on the main home page of the website
